Ithaca, NY – February 2018

Welcome back guys! I have to admit it has been a while and I apologize, but all that matters is I’m back with a new post. I had a week off of school for break in February, so my best friend Cora and I decided that we were going to take a little road trip. We decided to go to Ithaca, which was almost 3 hours from Buffalo. We hopped in my jeep and made a couple trips to Starbucks on the way and then we were ready to explore.

Now, Cora and I have been talking about getting matching tattoos for a while. We were about 40 minutes from Ithaca when I brought it up and she was totally down. We were both very excited and pretty nervous because we have never gotten tattoos before and we didn’t know how much it would hurt. Spoiler Alert – It didn’t hurt at all! It helps that our tattoo artist was extremely nice. I highly recommend going to Artistic Point Tattoo Co. if you are ever in the Ithaca area.

We decided to get cute flowers on our arms. Meaning behind it – wildflower // you live life with passion, and find beauty in the extraordinary. You roam free. A risk taker and a changemaker. You are a wild one – don’t ever let your wild heart be tamed. Keep exploring, dreaming, imagining, laughing and loving. Always be blooming, allow yourself to grow without boundaries and no matter what — stay wild.

After getting tattoos, we decided to walk around Ithaca and discovered a lot of wall art. Now, I am obsessed with wall art or any art of that matter and Ithaca had some awesome wall art. Especially the sunflower wall of course because sunflowers are my favorite flowers.

Then, there was this alleyway full with art and I loved the vibrant colors! So, of course we had to do a little mini photo shoot.

Us being girls, we saw a urban outfitters and had to go. Finally, I found the friends crewneck and had to buy it. It was cozy and cute, so how could I pass that up?

The next morning, we went to Ithaca’s beautiful state park called Buttermilk falls. We walked and explore the park for quite a bit and then we started getting super cold. Although, we weren’t allowed to see the falls because there was snow on the ground, it gives us a good reason to go back there in the late Spring, early Summer. After exploring the park, my soul felt recharged, so even though I was bummed I couldn’t see the falls. it felt good to get some fresh air and spend time in this beautiful place.

We ended up stopping at Taughannock Falls State Park on the way home. It took us 45 minutes to find the waterfall, but it was worth it.

It was absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to go back in the summer time.

Even though, we only ended up going for four days. It was a nice break away from Buffalo. It was good to see different scenery and explore different places, even if it wasn’t in a warmer place. It is a good time to get away and recharge from your normal routine. Little trips like these are a good time to take because it is a good time to take a step back and relax. I am looking forward to my next mini road trip.
