‘Tis the season for being thankful. Even though you should be thankful all year around, Christmas is a great time to look around and see all your loved ones around you. I felt this way during this past weekend in particular. I have had a lot going on lately, so things have been crazy, but it always helps to look at the wonderful people I’m surrounded by, whether it be family or friends.
This weekend, I had a lot of social events going on. Saturday, there was this thing called Santa Con and it was downtown. It was a holiday themed bar crawl that gave you a bracelet to get into most of the bars downtown without a cover charge. It was ten dollars, which isn’t bad at all. So I decided to go with my friend when we went to the gym together on Friday.
Even though it was so last minute, I had a blast. I usually don’t do well at social events because I get pretty nervous around new people and it is hard for me to come out of my shell. We met up with my friend’s friend earlier in the afternoon and throughout the whole day we had a lot of fun. We checked out a lot of bars downtown. I have to say Rec Room was probably my favorite because the layout was pretty cool and it gave off a pretty nice vibe. Plus, they had neon lights, so of course I had to take a mini photoshoot. Even though, somehow my friend ended up losing her phone, we had a pretty good night.
Then, on Sunday I had to wake up at 6 am. It was game day and I was going out with my work to the Bills game. We started tailgating at 7:30 am until the game and we headed in. We had a lot of laughs and crazy dance moves. But, I often found myself looking around thinking how did I get blessed to have such great friends in my life. We made it to about third quarter because my feet were soaked and we had the lead. But, when I got home I was pretty disappointed to find out we lost to the Jets. But, overall I had a wonderful time with people I love and care about. I wouldn’t trade them for anything else in the world.
